Our commitment to the environment
We understand that parties and events can create a lot of waste and have a negative impact on the environment, and that is why we are taking steps to minimise its impact as much as we can. By employing a professional who shares this commitment, you can have peace of mind knowing that your event will have the least possible negative effect. Since balloon usage is not an everyday occurrence, entrusting your event to us means you will have access to latex recycling and the expertise of someone who prioritises environmentally responsible practices and understand the best processes concerning this.
Why we no longer use helium...
At Belle’s Decorations By Design, we have made the conscious decision to no longer use helium-filled balloons. This choice is rooted in our commitment to sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment.
Helium is a non-renewable resource that is becoming increasingly scarce. It is primarily sourced from natural gas reserves, and its extraction and production contribute to carbon emissions and depletion of fossil fuel reserves. Many suppliers are able to source their helium as a bi product from other helium usages but this unfortunately was not feasible for us. Hence the decision to discontinue was made. The limited availability of helium has led to significant price increases, making it less accessible and affordable for many.
After the party, what we do with the balloons left over....
We have partnered with a renowned Australian based balloon recycling organisation to ensure that our latex balloons are responsibly disposed of and repurposed.
Once the party is over, we collect the left over latex balloons and once we have 5kg of them we get them to our recycling partner, they then undergo a meticulous process of recycling and repurposing.
The latex balloons are carefully sorted and separated from other materials. They are then processed into smaller pieces and transformed into a variety of new products. These can include garden mulch, rubberized pavement, or even new latex products.
By aligning ourselves we are taking a proactive step towards minimising waste and reducing the harm caused to the environment. Together, we can create a sustainable future for generations to come.

This display was up for 2 weeks in a new store, it required no maintenance during this period and once their launch was over, we removed the decor and had approximately 500gms of waste to collect for recycling.
